ROS AGRO PLC announces the end of 2020 sowing campaign

On 22 June Rusagro completed sowing season in all regions.  In 2020 area of cultivated land reduced by 48 ths ha (-8%) and reached 538 ths ha. The drop is attributed to the exclusion from the land bank of 46 ths ha leased from Solnechnye Producty in the Saratov Region in 2019. Harvest campaign should start at the end of next week. For Rusagro’s crop structure in 2019-2020 refer to Table 1.

 

Area planted with grains decreased by 3% (-8 ths ha) and reached 245 ths ha as a result of drop in barley area (-38 ths ha), which was partially compensated by growth in wheat (+20 ths ha) and corn area (+10 ths ha). Crop structure was reviewed according to crops profitability. Area planted with oil crops declined by 12% (-25 ths ha) and reached 187 ths ha due to the end of land lease in Saratov Region and reduction in soy area in Primorsky Krai in favor of corn. As a result of decrease of optimal distance from sugar plants, area planted with sugar beet dropped by 5% (-5 ths ha) and reached 84 ths ha. Area under fallow drop is also attributable to end of land lease in Saratov Region.
