Rusagro announces appointment of new Head of Sugar business
04.04.22On 1 April 2022, Sergey Goryachev was appointed General Director of Rusagro’s Sugar Business. Previously, Sergey was an Advisor to the General Director of Oil and Fats business.
Sergey will continue the development and implementation of the strategy of Sugar business, including raw materials purchase and capacity loading, launch of innovative products in respect of global trends of sugar consumption reduction, strengthening business’s market positions, as well as continuous client service improvement and digitalization.
Sergey made his career in Rusal, where in 2018 he was appointed Executive Director of OK Rusal Downstream Division with USD1 billion turnover and 9,000 employees. Among his key achievements on this position Sergey outlines the development and implementation of business units strategy, including production capacity expansion projects, M&A deals, product portfolio optimization and expansion of sales markets, successful acquisition and integration of three companies with USD200 million turnover, as well as the launch of new products in Russia, USA, European Union and Southeast Asia.
Sergey graduated from Moscow State University M. V. Lomonosov with specialization in geochemistry and Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. In 2017, he received MBA from The University of Chicago, Booth school of Business.
